Simple Minds - Real Life album download

Real Life is the ninth studio album by Scottish rock band Simple Minds, released in April 1991. This was the first Simple Minds album recorded without keyboardist and original bandmember Mick MacNeil, who left the band after the previous tour in 1990. The core band on this album comprise only Jim Kerr, Charlie Burchill, and Mel Gaynor (who all appear on the rear cover), with the remaining personnel being session musicians.

This album comes with printed inner sleeve.

Paula came from Washington with long golden hair Twenty eight dollars in a fake silk purse and a leather skirt to wear Shane came from Dublin town from the old world so green Counterfeit ticket in to JFK in the land of his dreams Street life's the only life they take a walk in the park Even tough they only.

Real Life isn't terrible, but play it next to any of those aforementioned albums, and you're reminded how much less inspired their writing had become by the early '90s. Though some of the songs are decent (including the catchy "Stand By Love" and the haunting "Woman"), the majority of them aren't very memorable. Only the most devoted Simple Minds fans will want this generally uneventful CD; more casual listeners would be much better off sticking to the band's mid-'80s work.

JUST DO IT
I couldn't disagree more with the AM review. Frankly, a reviewer who rates a great record 2 stars, yet lacks the wherewithal to write more than 4 sentences, is lazy, to say the least. There's noting credible about the AM review.

Simple Minds gradually transitioned into the '90s with Real Life, once again retaining their stadium/Big Music hit making musical ethos while incorporating some newer sonic effects and dance elements typical of the era.Lyrically, this album falls somewhere between between the lighter tales of human warmth and emotion on Once Upon A Time and the politically aware complexities of Street Fighting Years - essentially, it's the album Simple Minds would probably have released in 1987 under different circumstances. The modern pop sensibilities of 'Let There Be Love' became their last MAJOR hit in Europe, while 'See The Lights' was the only SM single to clip the U.S. top 40 outside of their 1985-86 Breakfast Club popularity. Mick MacNeil's departure would be regarded by the band as an irreplaceable absence in later years, but initially Simple Minds coped with yet more personnel upheaval very well.
