That kite-flown boy walks real slowly To his funeral at the movies And on his hand a belt of rubies Keeps him from hell And he'll. Eighth row Eighth row Eighth row Eighth row. Two men guide him to his casket The center seat eyes move past it And watch the screen above Where two folks fall into love And they'll. There's people watching the movie I don't know if they know he's dead The men are old and wear suits And greased back stray hair And they'll because he's.
Written-By – Shudder To Think (tracks: A1 to A3, B1 to B3). Notes. Insert with band photos and lyric of "Ride that sexy horse".
Shudder to Think finally get to work with some good material on 1991's Funeral at the Movies, which allows them to realize some of the potential that the alternative rock underground had been whispering about for years. Unfortunately, this helpful material came in the form of a Jimi Hendrix cover. Shifting vocal registers with abandon, Wedren also contorts "Red House" (a Shudder to Think original, not the blues number Hendrix performed) and the title track into curious alternative anthems. Outside of the three tracks mentioned above, not much else on Funeral at the Movies rises above Shudder to Think 's early career standard that, while impressive, doesn't approach the artistry of Pony Express Record.
